Overview
The Catcher in the Rye is a classic book based around the 1950s and is written by J.D, Salinger. Holden Caulfield is the narrator of the novel and goes through many challenging events. He is a sixteen year old boy who has failed out of three previous schools and has just failed four out of his five classes at his current school, Pencey Prep, and is told to go home. His parents are unaware about him failing out of yet another school. Due to a couple of situations he decides to leave Pencey three days early and stay in New York until the Wednesday when he is really suppose to go home. He meets with many people along his journey, facing different situations and conflicts.
